Jambo! Welcome to Jambo Bobcat Bite, the latest venture by Chef Ahmed Obo, owner of Jambo Café. Known for his dishes featuring fragrant spices, tangy tastes with a touch of fruit; Jambo Bobcat Bite is a unique opportunity for Chef Ahmed to expand into a different flavor profile. The menu features mostly American style dishes such as eggs benedict, French toast, burgers and fries, and fish & chips, but with a decidedly “Jambo Café” flair and, of course, a nod to New Mexican cuisine. 

Chef Ahmed is from Lamu, off the coast of Kenya where he learned to cook at his mother’s knee. As the eldest of 10 children Chef Ahmed watched his mother, Halima, feed a large family on limited means, while coaxing extraordinary flavor from ordinary ingredients. Chef has been cooking professionally for over 20 years, beginning his journey in Santa Fe at the legendary Zia Diner, before opening Jambo Café in 2009. 

Jambo Bobcat Bite’s Co-Owner is Delmy “Argelia” Oliva who has been in food service for 14 years. Argelia began her food service career as a prep-cook, moved to the grill line, and then to the front of the house which evolved into Assistant and then General management at a popular local establishment. A favorite of both employees and customers, Argelia has a reputation of being hard-working and focused. She is thrilled to be a part of this endeavor as the Manager on site and looks forward to serving locals and tourists alike long into the future.
